    Formed by #St.IgnatiusLoyola the #Jesuits or the #SocietyofJesus sought to extend the boundaries of the Roman Catholic Church. #extensions #Jesuits recieved an advanced education which included theology, history, literature, classical languages, philosophy, and science.  In summation, the #Jesuits were highly effective Roman Catholic missionaries.

    John Calvin

    1. John Calvin #calvins was a French lawyer who lived from 1509 to 1564. He converted to Protestant Christianity in the 1530s during a time when the French monarchy wanted to quell Protestant Reformation. In #Geneva, Calvin organized a Protestant community as well as composed and published an influential treatise, "Institutes of the Christian Religion" in 1536. This treatise tabulated Protestant teachings. #Calvin's community in Geneva was a missionary center and model Protestant communtiy. #rolemodel #protestantcommunitygoals

    1. King Henry the VIII who reigned from 1509 to 1547 wished to divorce his wife who could not produce a male heir to his throne. #lame The pope would not allow him to do so. Henry's reaction to this was to eliminate all relations with the Roman church so as to make himself Supreme Head of the Anglican Church or an English #pope. #overreacting King Henry's later #successors ended up replacing Roman Catholic doctrines and rituals with #Protestant ones.
