Blogging talk:Blogger's Code of Conduct/Ignore the trolls
From Blogging
Compare and contrast with Take action against attacks. Trolls and attackers are far too similar, yet this code of conduct requests opposite actions to be taken.
- comment: This is a set of differing modules for each blog owner to choose from, not a monolithic code. Good point though, that choosing both these modules might be confusing.

[edit] Second-guessing Trolls
Imo leaving a troll post up is a bad idea. For one thing, eventually someone may answer it. A stated policy of 'we do not remove trolls' is an invitation to a troll contest: two trolls see how many posts they can make, cluttering the board, till the moderator is forced to change the policy and remove all the trash posts. What discourages one troll may encourage another. Imo the best thing is to keep the board clean and pleasant for the desired posters, not try to second-guess the trolls. -- bemusedoutsider at LJ
