The word blogger was initially used in the name of a website, launched in 1999 from Pyra Labs, San Francisco called "www.blogger.com". The website provided the tools for creating blogs (weblogs). After users select a pre-designed template or create one with their look and feel, every posting entered on Blogger is published to the Blogger page on their website automatically.
In early 2003, Blogger was acquired by Google and since then has been hosting blogs on the domain name www.***.blogspot.com.
