Why does every website about self-harm treat cutting as if it is just for kids/teens that want attention? Many adults (including young adults) use if as a method of copying with real life and real psychiatric problems. Personally, I've yet to find a website that addresses the reasons that adults use cutting as a coping mechanism and what to do to help them. It is all about the children who use it as an acceptance/attention tactic. Someone with experience- help!
